Understanding Natural Soy Wax

At Hearthly, our candles are hand-poured using 100% soy wax. Because soy wax is a natural, plant-based material, it behaves differently from highly processed or synthetic waxes—and those little differences are part of its character.

Natural Variations Are Normal

You may notice slight changes in the appearance of your candle over time, including:

Frosting
A soft, white crystalline pattern may develop on the surface or sides of the wax. Frosting is a natural characteristic of soy wax and does not affect the candle's scent or performance.

Uneven or Textured Tops
After burning and cooling, the wax surface may appear slightly bumpy, rough, or uneven. This happens naturally as soy wax melts and solidifies.

Wax Pull-Away
Small gaps may occasionally appear between the wax and the glass, especially when temperatures change. This is caused by the natural expansion and contraction of the wax.

Sensitivity to Temperature
Soy wax can soften in high temperatures and contract in cooler conditions. Keep your candle away from direct sunlight and excessive heat, particularly during warmer months.
